In order to achieve the objective of the Clarkstown Soccer Club Intramural Soccer Program for the above age groups the following will apply:
DRESS: 1. SHIN GUARDS ARE MANDATORY. THE CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE GAME WITHOUT SHIN GUARDS. SHIN GUARDS MUST BE WORN UNDER SOCKS. 2. Players must wear issued uniforms. Goalies must wear a different color shirt from the field players. 3. Dark blue or black sweatshirts may be worn under the uniform in cold weather. 4. General purpose rubber cleats (NO METAL SPIKES) or sneakers may be worn, but no street shoes.
TIME PERIODS AND PLAY REQUIREMENTS: 1. Regulation fields and goals provided by the Club are to be used. 2. There will be 2 halves played, 30 minutes each with a five-minute rest at half time. 3. Eleven (11) players on the field including the goalie. EACH PLAYER PRESENT IS TO PLAY AT LEAST HALF THE GAME.
RULES: 1. Modified F.I.F.A. rules apply subject to the following changes. 2. NO COACHES ARE PERMITTED ON THE FIELD TO ASSIST DURING PLAY. 3. Free substitution is permitted on any dead ball, regardless of possession. Coaches must request substitution from the referee. The referee will signal substitutions. 4. Opposing players must remain 10 yards from the ball on free kicks. 5. Corner kicks will be taken from the corner flag. 6. No players, coaches, parents or spectators are allowed in back of or next to the goals. 7. Once the goalie has gained possession of the ball within the 18 yard box, all players of the opposing team are to vacate the 18 yard box and allow the goalie to freely play the ball. Teammates of the goalie may remain in the 18 yard box if they desire. 8. Goal kicks will be taken from the 6 yard box. Goalies must punt or throw balls from within the 18 yard box. 9. THE SIX SECOND GOALIE RULE WILL APPLY. The rule reads: "When playing as a goal-keeper and within his own penalty area: from the moment the ball comes under his control, he takes more than six seconds without releasing the ball into play and having released it- he touches the ball again before it has been touched or played by another player...shall be penalized by the award of an indirect kick to betaken by the opposing team from where the infringement occurred." 10. An indirect kick will awarded for balls passed back to the goalie and picked up by the goalie. 11. On throw-ins, a player is allowed one chance to make a proper throw-in. The ball will be awarded to the opposing team after an unsuccessful attempt. 12. NO SLIDE TACKLING PERMITTED. This will result in a direct free kick awarded to the opposing team. 12. THE OFFSIDE RULE WILL APPLY. A player is offside if he is nearer to his opponent's goal line than the ball at the moment the ball is played unless: a) he is in his own half of the field; or b) at least two opponents (one may be the goalie) are at least as near the goal line as he is. A player cannot be offsides on a ball received from a throw-in, a corner kick or a dropped ball situation. The penalty for offsides is an indirect kick from the point of the foul.
